MLO 4 Research & Technology
MLO 4 Research & Technology
Work Example
In this class, 403, MLO 4 was easily accomplished, as throughout the class we’re being taught how to utilize our colleges research abilities in order for us to achieve a well made and thought our research paper, survey, and presentation for our graduating class. This class has taught me how to better utilize my surroundings, become more organized, and think more critically about how I word questions. I can now utilize this information which I have learned from this class in the future business setting or work setting, which will help me further my career and come off as more intelligent and will prepare to my coworkers and bosses. I have also been taught in this class how to better work with a partner, in a way, which will better benefit each other and our own goals and ideas. Something interesting that I did learn in this class, is that things that may have been obvious to me when asking a question or saying, a phrase may not have been obvious to other people. My implications were not at all the same as other people’s and therefore I need to learn how to better word phrases in questions in order for it to become clear to everyone. For example, our survey questions had to be revised multiple times, because my wording did not come off as very clear to others, which I was made aware of by my professors. This then meant that I had to work together with my professors, and my peers in order for it to become the best version, it could be I am extremely grateful for this class to be able to teach me such values as I am going into the workforce very soon and will very much likely need to know these in advance.

MLO 1 Japanese Language and Communication
MLO 1 Japanese Language and Communication
Work Example
For this class, JAPN 401, it has been extremely easy to fulfill MLO 1, as this is a linguistics class and MLO 1.2 is essentially explaining and asking how well you have learned Japanese linguistics. I have learned how to better communicate with native Japanese speakers in a more eloquent manner, that is more becoming of someone who has been learning the language for almost 9 years now. This class has also allowed me to delve deeper into how and why Japanese sounds the way it does, as well as why the grammatical structure and pitch pronunciation is so much more important than I thought. In addition, I was pushed to achieve at an intermediate-high proficiency level, making me learn at a quicker pace and therefore encouraging me to use critical thinking skills in my internal translation ability. I have also been taught the importance of dialects, which I can use if visiting other parts of Japan; without being confused or being unable to understand them. Learning the IPA chart and the different sounds has also helped me better understand my native language of English, by making me more aware of the sounds that I am producing and how it is being done. This class was also a great way for me to connect the dots on previous questions I had about Japanese which I did not know how to search the answers for.
